Where do I start? I needed a me weekend! I was overly excited, and I couldn't wait!

I rented an accessible van, and I was ready for freedom and accessibility with ease.

I knew that with the van, I could go non-stop for the next four days, and man did I have an exciting weekend planned.

I stayed local and started out in Williamsburg, Virginia. I went to the Yankee Candle outlet, went to Ripley's Believe It or Not, chowed down at Captain George's, and enjoyed a few other local shops. I ate well and enjoyed every second! Man, did I enjoy myself!

The second day, I set out to go to Virginia Beach. It was perfect 80 degree weather in Mid-October-- really?? I went to the Virginia Aquarium, and it was pretty surreal to me to see all of the beauty and sea creatures. How peaceful it was to me! I just love nature, and it was perfect. So worth the money! Side Note, I really appreciated how accessible, clean, and accommodating they were. Come on, we are about to be in 2021, and I still have to fight on a daily basis for minimal accessibility in places that are a necessity for me to get around, but that's another story for another day!

The third day, I travelled back to Williamsburg to go to the Pottery and to my disappointment, while it was accessible, it was such a waste of good space and merchandise. Hey, that's just my opinion! Jamestown was after, and it was pretty darn cool, even with COVID going on! I'd like to say that even though it was back in time, it was "supposed" to be totally inaccessible, but to my surprise, I got around with ease, and everyone was just so pleasant! The Indians and the teepees were a favorite. I mean, picture it, could you see me in those days in a teepee?! What did they do with people like me back in those times? Random, I know, but those are just some thoughts that came to my mind as I was enjoying this adventure.

Of course, what did I do after that? Later that evening, I enjoyed more food and... yes, wine!

Even though it was day trips, I still considered this a mini vacation from work . Yes, I budgeted so that I could treat myself this whole weekend and not feel guilty... because I WORKED for it! Everyone needs to treat themselves from time to time, and that's okay!

Then comes the final day.... I know it's corny, but I woke up early the last day realizing that I wanted to get as much in before I had to turn the van back in. So, I caught myself actually getting emotional because just that quick, I had gotten used to the van and the freedom that came with it. It was effortless and it was easy, and I didn't have to rework my life and schedule around anyone when it came to transportation! I want that FOR REAL! How does it become a reality when an accessible van is so much money?!?

Anyway, I went for a brunch locally in Mechanicsville to this little old dinky corner store restaurant that you wouldn't think was much by looking at it. Man, was it everything! Homemade food, may I add. The ladies were just like your neighbors! Then, I just ran some errands because I had the freedom and accessibility to do so. I went into this great local Red Poppy Pickn' store ran by this sweet girl named Chelsea. Her store is absolutely fabulous, but I only get to go there when I have transportation to Mechanicsville. Side note, my public transportation that I have to take is extremely limited, which I don't think is fair, but with all of it's pitfalls, I am grateful to have it for work So, that was the end! We didn't get to a couple of things that I wanted to happen, but I guess that's other adventures for other days. All in all, it was a packed four days! If anyone knows of any magical miracles out there that could produce a van, that would be a dream come true (lol!) It was just very disappointing to have to give that van back! I absolutely love the freedom and opportunity it allowed me to have. I am a travelling girl! I love to be on the go and explore new things, whether it's flying or local road trips, it makes my soul feel really good and get's me excited about life.

I strive really hard to live an adventurous life and not just exist in this thing called life. ;) (wink).

On to the next adventure! I am trying to plan and set up two trips that I had planned for this summer and are already paid for. I just have to go, but downfall...possibly, is finding a "helper" who wants to go (free of charge to them, that is). Crossing my fingers, and I know it will work out! So, I'm looking forward to it and that will be a really exciting blog to do for those trips.

Pictures to come soon from the weekend and other adventures!
