Purple Party!

Hello My Lovely Readers!

How is everyone? I am sitting here with my electric fireplace, Law and Order SVU, and a really cozy blanket on the eve of Thanksgiving because I am COOOLLLLDDDD!

I am struggling with the idea of turning on my heat, but anywho, let me tell you about the adventure of the Purple Party I was fortunate enough to get invited to on 11/20/2021!

It was AWESOME!! I was so thankful to attend such a great show in a positive atmosphere surrounded by the Purple Community from all over the country! We all came together as one... one unit and lifted each other up the whole night long!

Many new faces I met for the very first time in person! It felt like I already had friendships with so many of them! Not once did I feel out of place!

There are so many times that I feel out of place, so it's remarkable to go somewhere that I do not feel out of place.

I don't know how to explain it, but the Purple Community is just such a different community. By different, I mean good in every aspect! When the Purple Community get's together, it's different backgrounds, races, and ethnicities... It doesn't matter who you are or how you look. So far, I haven't been judged or looked at funny... At least I have not caught on if I have been. They made sure I knew that night that I was not alone... even though I came by myself. This was my first evening out since being sick, surgery... yada yada... you know the story...

I felt excited that I had something to look forward to. Something that I can relate to and I am not alone. PURPLE!!! Purple= Prince... if you didn't know before, now you know!

I had friends of the Purple Community rent a wheelchair accessible van for me, which was absolutely AMAZING! I loved it! I was able to get to DC easily! The fact that the purple community would do that for me speaks volumes!!! I am FOREVER appreciative for these people...most I had not met until this night! These people went out on a limb for me... someone that they didn't even know... yet.... until later that night! They made sure I was able to get there to enjoy myself! It was much needed after my medical ordeal! It was a breath of fresh air!

I now have those memories, and I am crossing my fingers that they will only continue. I hope that the friendships will continue to build! The Purple Funk Party lasted until 1AM at the Songbird in DC, and then, as if my poor eyes were not already red and sleepy, there was a whole group of us who went to IHIOP later and ate pancakes. We literally partied and ate pancakes until 5am Sunday morning! Man, it's been awhile since I have done ANYTHING like that! But it was all good energy, and I have not felt that great for a long time. My soul honestly felt alive! I was around good people! All the hugs and the awful pictures (OF ME.... YIKES!) There will be lot's more pictures and partying to come! GOOD Pictures... we will make sure of that next time (laugh out loud). Next time... I can't wait!

Man, let me tell you! Martin Kimber of Color Me Bad, now Martin Kimber and his band The Unit, was the ABSOLUTE FIRE! Damn it! If you never experienced those guys in person, you need to AT LEAST ONCE! And so, it wouldn't be right for me to draw this blog to a near end and not mention my dear friend who is an amazing human being with a giant heart, Alphonso Starr! I am so glad we officially OFFICIALLY had met one another Your infectious character is one that anyone can get used to. I can only pray that I am around it more in the future! To the Purple Community, I sincerely thank you all for accepting me as I am... I mean, truthfully... I didn't feel awkward, and to be honest, I was really anxious about it when I first arrived. The feeling quickly subsided! I am grateful for that! Thank you everyone for letting me go on about my little excitement! Honestly, that's what excites me! The little things go a long way! Good people is all I ever want to be! I really hope that is the energy I give off. My heart is really full and so, with that, I will wish everyone an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving! I hope that everyone is able to have a hot full meal surrounded by someone who makes you feel loved.
